Fastmarkets Bauxite and Alumina 2025

During the 2025 Fast Markets Bauxite and Alumina conference, ICSOBA organized the first ever workshop on "Bauxite Residue as a Raw Material".

The workshop was moderated by Shanti Persaud, Senior Environment Officer of the Jamaica Bauxite Institute.

The conference featured presentations from:

• Dr. Frank R. Feret, Chairman of ICSOBA : Bauxite Residue production and characteristics;
• Asst. Prof. Efthymios Balomenos, ICSOBA Director and Bauxite Residue Subject Organizer: Bauxite Residue valorization options;
• Ron Knapp Adviser, Office of the Chairman, China Hongqiao Group Limited (HK): Bauxite Residue reuse in China.

With more than 50 registered participants the interactive workshop, covered Bauxite residue production and characteristics as well as currently developed technologies and prospects for its reuse in Europe, America, Middle East, India and China.

The presentations and open discussion which followed, allowed the three experts to transfer technical insights from ICSOBA's conferences to the business oriented Fast Markets Bauxite and Alumina conference delegates.
