At ICSOBA 2023 the field trips to Emirates Global Aluminium’s Al Taweelah smelter and refinery were organized on 9 of November. Four groups of total 165 participants took part in a full day bus tour – focusing on bauxite & alumina refinery and aluminium and carbon operations of the plants. After arriving to the plant head office, the short description of facilities layout was given to the plant visitors. Smelter visitors took the full walking tour of the operation inside the plant. Refinery visitors took the bus tour. Short stops to Digestion, BR filtration Precipitation and Evaporation were orgnized. Due to safety restrictions no walking in the refinery premises was allowed however key operations personnel were giving the details and answered questions of participants, on site.
