Technical Field Trips

At ICSOBA 2022 the field trips to MYTILINEOS Agios Nikolaos plant were organized. Two groups of total 80 delegates took part in a full-day bus tour, in two groups – focusing on bauxite & alumina refinery and aluminium and carbon operations of the plant. The visit of both groups included general MYTILINEOS company presentation at ASPRA SPITIA (PEROKE Cafe-Restaurant) where the company history, current operations, its significance for Greek economy and future development plans were presented. After that, bus tour with short stops to Digestion, Precipitation, Smelting, BR Area & BR Pilot Facilities were organized. Due to COVID restrictions, no walking in the premises was allowed, however key operations personnel were giving the details and answered questions of participants, on site. After the tour at the plant, delegates were shown Removal Exhibition Area where the products made from bauxite residue were displayed and their application potential was explored.

MYTILINEOS - Aluminium of Greece Plant
